Giving the Bird.

This recipe came from Craftzine.com and I'm totally going to make this for Thanksgiving. Have you ever brined a bird? It sounds kind of awesome and delicious. So I'm gonna put my skillz to the test and see how it turns out. Let me know if anyone else decides to try this too.

Dear Ebay, You Just Let me Be. Love, Scoops

My new ebay finds
It's an addiction, I know. Buying things on ebay is fun and easy and I love it. These roly poly spaghetti string tumblers are my new latest and greatest. I like to believe that I got a deal on these so it's not all bad. I suppose I need to get the pitcher now too.

Hey red lotus bowls, you better watch out, you're next on my hit list.

2 Socks Does NOT = 1 Pair

2 socks does not = a pair
Well I finished one sock of each of the patterns I was working on. I now am the proud owner of one sock knitted in the pattern "Gentleman's Winter Sock" and the other knitted in the pattern "Child's First Sock In Shell Pattern." These socks will have to become friends because their sock buddies won't be showing up until after the holidays. There's just too much other stuff to get done first.

This is cool: Bows Made from Magazines.

Just found this great idea on the good ol' internetz. If you can't tell already, I'm a little gung-ho about Christmas and all the things that come with it. Thanks to Jessica for the tutorial which can be found at howaboutorange.blogspot.com. Now I have an excuse to put the cart before the horse and start my Christmas present wrapping before I even have gifts bought. I know what I'll be doing when I'm bored at work.

This could be really awesome too if you were to use vintage children's christmas books instead of magazines, I can picture it now.

Thanksgiving Count Down Begins Now!

Setting the Table
It's getting to be time for the Allen family to host their first Thanksgiving dinner. First things first, now that I have this new dining room table I decide I should probably buy the proper tools to dress it. So Finn and I head over to Ikea and buy 12 place settings including dinner plate, salad plate, bowl, drinking glasses, place mat, coaster, table decor, and napkin rings for about $85 bucks. Holy crap that rules. Instead of buying fall colors I buy a shade of blue that matches my living room - I can't start color coordinating for holidays just yet.

My first adult table
Check it! Place card holders/napkin rings. How very fancy of me.
